The idea of the exhibition is to choose among a large choice of fabrics and to include it in a piece of jewelry. I chose purple velvet and I created "Whirl" specially for the exhibition.
This week-end I had the chance to meet Isabello Bembo, the curator of the exhibition and all the israeli jewelers who took part of the biennale during a meeting organized by a wonderful jewelry artist Vered Babai. It was a very nice moment, Isabella brought with her new fabrics so everyone could choose a new one for the next biennale wich will take place in the end of the year. She also announced us that Filo Rosso will be exposed in the gallery "myday-byday" of Lauren Helena Aureli this june.
The pendant suggests an animated and untidy movement softened by the purple velvet. The piece leads the person who looks at it to follow the movement of one of the waves and then an other one nearby, giving the feeling of an endless whirl.
Dimensions : 8 x 8 x 2 cm
Techniques : silver and velvet attached together were bent to shape each element of the pendant. Then, the elements were sewn one to another.
